Around ninety six percentage of the population of the state is Hindu and the culture very rich. This culture remained untouched because the other culture could not affect it. People from the other culture could not reach there and stay there due to very tough terrain to reach and live there. The major communities include Rajputs, Rathis, Kolis, Kannet, Brahmins and Choudhry, Gujjars and several other nomads. The Gujjars rear cattle herds and Buffalow, sheep, and goats are in major number. The Kinnars of Kinnaur are in practice of polyandry and polygamy. The local music and dances reflects the culture of the area. The local people worship their God and Goddesses through music and dances to make them happy to get the blessings for prosperity, peace and calm and for good health. They perform dance and music on special occasions such as fairs, religious functions, festivals.
Manali
Manali is a beautiful hill station in Kullu District in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It has an average altitude of 6,427 feets above mean sea level. Manali is located on the bank of Beas River about 39 km away from Kullu City hub and 268 km away from Shimla. According to the census of 2011 approximately 8,096 people reside here. Being a hill station of higher elevation it be snow covered in winter and its green meadows and deodar forests attract a number of trekkers, skiers, and rafters throughout the year. Manali is also very favorite place for honeymoon couples. Manali is a place where you can perform lots of activities like water rafting, trekking, and mountaineering, at Beas Kund, Chandrakhani Pass, Lahaul, Spiti, Bara Bhangal and Zanskar ranges. You can also able to find out several picturesque sight-seeing spots from there.
Shimla
Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh and a popular hill-station among Indian families and honeymooners. Situated at the height of 2200m, Shimla was the summer capital of British India. Shimla still retains its old-world charm with beautiful colonial architecture, pedestrian-friendly Mall Road and the ridge lined up with multiple shops, cafes and restaurants. Shimla is well connected with many cities and is just 4 hours from the nearby city of Chandigarh. The city has an airport as well; however, there aren't many daily flights from here. The railway station connects Shimla with the plans and is famous for the Kalka-Shimla train route; a UNESCO listed World Heritage site. Shimla is often covered along with nearby towns of Kufri, a hill-station almost always covered by snow and Chail, famous for a huge palace and the highest cricket ground in the world. Tourists also visit the famous Jakhu Temple and engage in sightseeing at various viewpoints during their trip to Shimla.

The best time to visit Himachal Pradesh is in October till March, Snow fall starts from Mid December till February end and Summers starts from March to June.
Monsoon
July to End of September and during Monsoon you can see the snow at Rohtang pass.
